Environmental Impacts Of Earth Drilling

Earth Drill

When we see massive construction and landscaping projects, we often wonder to ourselves "I wonder what that's doing to the environment?" Many people think of Earth Drilling as things like Oil Rigs, flatting out wide plains, or fracking. However, the most common form of Earth Drilling is incredibly small-scale, domestic Earth Drilling, which is usually no more than three or so feet deep and impacts the environment minimally!

Land Disruption

Unlike larger machines like excavators and large-scale drills, smaller earth saws and other drills that use augers have a minimal impact on land disruption. Instead of displacing large amounts of soil that typically is very difficult to place back where it came from, smaller Earth Drills like the ones from Little Beaver have a minimal displacement effect, and the soil is easily insertable. This is largely due to the spiral-shaped augers that displace dirt so that it becomes loose and malleable, as opposed to other equipment that scoops large, hard blocks of soil that don't fit quite right when trying to put it back. This not only makes it far easier to repair the disrupted land but also ensures that the soil is kept in the environment it was meant for.

Carbon Footprint

One of the better qualities of using smaller equipment is a smaller carbon footprint, especially if you are using a particularly clean machine like a Little Beaver. Little Beaver machines consume overall less fuel and oil as a result of their powerful yet clean engines that complete jobs faster than most other earth drills. This keeps its overall carbon footprint down, something we can all benefit from. Larger machines typically use considerably more oil and fuel as well as emitting significantly more emissions.

Reusability

One of the best benefits of having a smaller machine is that they are easily repairable. Instead of just replacing them like many other companies expect you to do, Little Beaver believes in the right to repair as well as in fixing before replacing. Why replace a perfectly good machine when it may only need a new bolt or two? Waste and planned obsolescence is not something that we believe in, and when you buy a Little Beaver Earth Drill you're getting our full support and any part for any machine when you need it.
