How To Use A Mechanical Earth Drill

If you’re curious about renting or owning a mechanical earth drill, there are some steps you’ll need to take to use this helpful machinery properly.

Firstly, every time you operate a mechanical earth drill, you’ll need to:

  • Ensure the torque tube is attached correctly
  • Verify that there is no auger connected to the handle
  • Finally, set all kill switches to “ON.”
  • After you have finalized these operations, you can begin using your Little Beaver mechanical earth drill.

Steps On How To Operate Your Mechanical Earth Drill

Starting A Mechanical Earth Drill

When starting your mechanical earth drill, slide the round end of your torque tube on the torque tube bar on the handle.

Next, you will snap the torque tube on the available connecter that goes at the end of the engine.

After finishing this, change the kill switches to an “ON” position. When this is completed, you’ll need to pull the starter rope.

Then, connect the auger to the transmission adaptor.

Some Important Notes While Using Your Mechanical Earth Drill

When using your mechanical earth drill, always keep your back as vertical as you can and bend your knees. If your blade is worn or your auger is broken, do not operate the machine. If your auger ever stops functioning, release the throttle lever and lift the handle to free your auger. Also, as another precaution, never under any circumstance remove the auger from a hole while it is turning.
